Executive Bios

F. Andrew Welcher

Mr. F. Andrew Welcher is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company. Mr. Welcher joined Windward when his company, Jackson Oil Products, was acquired in October of 2000. Jackson Oil Products is one of the largest distributors of lubricants and related products in the country. During the twenty years Mr. Welcher owned Jackson Oil Products, he made several acquisitions and created three other related companies, two regional lube center firms and an environmental subsidiary which was also acquired by Windward. Mr. Welcher has served on several national supplier distributor councils and was a founder of AOID (Association of Independent Distributors), a national organization established to assist distributors with best practices. Mr. Welcher graduated from Robert Morris College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Michael C. Spoor

Mr. Michael C. Spoor founded Windward Petroleum in 1998 and is the Vice President of Operations. He is a summa cum laude graduate of Northeastern University in Boston. He was previously employed by Exxon Corporation in a variety of capacities within the company's engineering and marketing departments. In his most recent position with Exxon, his primary responsibility was to execute Exxon's strategic plan for adding new, larger lubricants distributors throughout the eastern United States. Previously, Mr. Spoor led the development of management systems to improve operational performance at Exxon's lubricants blending plants and was responsible for Exxon's highest volume domestic fuel distribution terminal.

Stephen Eldred

Mr. Stephen Eldred joined Windward as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2005. Previously he was CFO of Aavid Thermal Technologies, a NASDAQ company, CFO and Director of Quadrant Group, an engineering group listed on the London Stock Exchange and CEO of companies within aerospace engineering, packaging and gaming industries. Mr. Eldred has spent his career primarily in international businesses operating in the United States, Europe and the Far East.

Jeffrey S. Hastings

Mr. Jeffrey S. Hastings is the Vice President of Marketing of Windward Petroleum. Prior to joining Windward, Jeffrey was with TJX/Homegoods where he filled many Senior Management roles and was instrumental in the development and roll out of the Homegoods concept. Mr. Hastings oversees the marketing of Windward Petroleum, Purchasing, and Inside Sales. He has continually expanded his role at Windward during the growth of the company and has developed an expansive knowledge of the total operation of the company.

Barbara J. Sterling

Ms. Barbara J. Sterling is Director of Human Resources & Risk Management of the company. Prior to joining Windward, Ms. Sterling was Corporate Director of Human Resources at Griffin Greenhouse & Nursery Supplies, Inc., the leading national distributor of horticultural supplies. Ms. Sterling established the Human Resources function for Griffin Greenhouse & Nursery Supplies seven years ago, when they had 95 employees, annual sales of $25mm, and six locations. Throughout her seven years with Griffin, Ms. Sterling initiated and served as an Executive Committee Member and worked closely with the owners to grow their business through three successful acquisitions. Griffin currently employs 275 employees in eleven locations, from Maine to Virginia, with annual sales of $100mm. Ms. Sterling received her Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management at Daniel Webster College in Nashua, NH and is currently pursuing her certification as an S.P.H.R. through the Society of Human Resource Management.
